WHAT: The AVNC meetings are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
WHEN: Thursday July 12th at 7:00pm
WHERE: Christ's Church at Griffith Park ( 3852 Edenhurst Ave)

Join us for a mini election to potentially elect a new Central Atwater Representative, and a Business Representative

Come weigh in! We want to hear from you!

Welcome Grace Santillano and Teresa Prindle to the AVNC

When the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment announced that the term for Neighborhood Council Board Members would be extended by a full year, we lost several valuable board members - David Kerns, John Bradley, John Ciulik, and Weston Westenborg. Last month, several stakeholders sought the two North Atwater Representative seats, and the AVNC welcomed Grace and Teresa as our two newest board members! Teresa stated an interest in Outreach, and Grace joined the Community Greening Committee! We are excited to have these two join us!

The AVNC still has two seats available - 1 Business Representative Seat, and 1 Central Atwater Representative seat - and one candidate will be applying for each at Thursdays meeting. Please come out and meet the candidates, and vote for them if you feel they are a good fit to join the board! All stakeholders present and over the age of 16 may vote at Thursday nights meeting.

AVNC Hosts a Successful First
Equestrian Area Open House!

The AVNC Equestrian Committee led by Committee Chair, Gene Gilbert, partnered with The Paddock Riding Club, Taking the Reins, San Rafael Hunt Club, Atwater Stables, the Children's Ranch, and other community partners to host a first ever "open house and guided tour" of Atwater's unique equestrian area. Over 100 were in attendance! Guests were greeted with lemonade and custom horse cookies from The Village Bakery. Facility representatives were on sight to give attendees an idea of the services they offer, and AVNC River Committee members, Karen Barnett and Cheryll Roberts discussed plans for the new multi-modal bridge project.
