Finding and retaining qualified Maintenance Technicians has been difficult over the last several years. Rowan-Cabarrus Community College can help you remedy that problem.
RCCC, in partnership with several local companies, began an Industrial Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship training consortium in 2018. This is a four-year Industrial Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship training program that is registered with both ApprenticeshipNC and the U.S. Department of Labor. Each company in the program may send one apprentice per year, who then completes a minimum of 144 hours of classroom "theory" training per year and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training per year. A grant from Duke Energy/PNG covers all of the costs for tuition, books and supplies for each apprentice.
If you or your team have any questions or would like to join the Industrial Maintenance Apprenticeship consortium, please reach out to Kerry Motley, Apprenticeship Director at RCCC at kerry.motley@rccc.edu.
