Sheriff Bob Alford urges the community to be on guard when it comes to Internet scams. One in particular is an email coming from a Postal Family Credit Union in Missouri with a subject line as "Mark Johnson Company Invoice". Please be especially alert for scam emails asking you to send financial payment immediately! Below is the email:
Hello Bob,
I'm just checking in to find out if you had a chance to wire us the $1,217.00 payment for the invoice #INV/12-00084026. We were told by your CFO we'd receive it last week.
We realize that payments are sometimes overlooked, so it would be great if you could just close it today or ASAP.
In case you need it again, the invoice for Mark Johnson Company is enclosed.
