Special Town  Electors' Meeting
July 19, 2017 - 6:00PM

Electors of the Town will be asked by the Town Board on July 19th to consider an agreement between the Town and St. Germain Chamber of Commerce which would allow the Chamber to demolish and replace its current Office Building (Information Booth).  Details of the project and the long-term land/building use agreement between the Town and Chamber will be discussed before attendees will be requested to vote in support of or opposition to the Town moving forward with the arrangement.

A special town board meeting will convene immediately following the elector meeting.  The agenda for that meeting will be posted prior to July 19th.
     Senior Meals Now Being Served
at the Community Center

At its June 12th meeting, the Board of Supervisors  approved use of the Community Center for the Senior Meals program previously served three days per week at Fibbers Restaurant.  Everything about the meals program remains the same except for the location.  Meals began being served at the Community Center the week of July 4th.
Big St. Germain Drive - Plum Creek Culvert

The Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce that following months of negotiations with the company that poorly installed the Plum Creek culvert under Big St. Germain Drive, installation of new replacement culvert is scheduled for the week of September 11th, weather permitting.

The Board regrets the difficulties caused to users of Big St. Germain Drive for all these months and for the inconveniences that will occur during the re-installation.  However, the job will be done properly this time and the road will be resurfaced at the appropriate elevation before the onset of another winter.  Please let any of the board members know if you have any questions or concerns about this project.  Our contact information can be found on the "Elected & Appointed Officials" page of the town website.

     New Dog Ordinance Proving Effective

St. Germain's Animal Control Officer, Don Baumann, recently reported to the Town Board that the Town's new dog ordinance is already proving to be effective.  The current ordinance enables the Animal Control Officer to issue citations for violations.  The citations also serve as a summons to appear in Vilas County Circuit Court and a requirement to pay a $20 fine, plus court costs, totaling $162.70 for a first offence.

It is the practice of the Animal Control Officer to issue a courtesy warning ticket before writing an official citation.  So far every warning ticket issued has resulted in appropriate corrective action to avoid citations, court summons and costly forfeitures.

Officer Baumann's contact information can be found on the "Elected & Appointed Officials" page of the town website and the ordinance, "Chapter 10, St. Germain Code of Ordinances, "Dog Licensing & Control" on the "Ordinances" page of the website.
