Try ZiiP Shuttle Transport for
Summer School and Summer training!
ZiiP, a locally owned company, can provide transportation via passenger van to and from Mira Costa as well as MBMS for summer basketball practice. Routes and stops are being formed now. Prices and additional info can be found on the ZiiP WEBSITE . ZiiP uses fully certified drivers, and has been approved by MBUSD to be used district-wide.

On Monday, June 4th, MBX Executive Director,Jennifer Williams, and MBX Advisory Board President, Bonnie Darrow, announced the recipients of the Coach/Advisor of the Year.
Each year the booster clubs and their members have the opportunity to nominate either a Coach or Advisor that they feel has gone above and beyond as coach/advisor/director of their sport or program. Nominations were received from parents and students highlighting the impact and compassion these individuals have had on their students. MBX is pleased to acknowledge them and grateful for all they have done to support their students/athletes both as participants in their activities and as mentors for life. Thank you for all you do!

It’s not too late to buy tickets! Registration for G.R.A.D. Nite is almost sold out, but there’s still opportunity to reserve a spot. Ticket purchases may be made online via PayPal or by check (dropped off a MCHS front office).

Registrations are not confirmed until the required forms are submitted.

Costa athletes Xavier Court and Brigette Grau
compete at State Championships!
The State Championships were held in Clovis CA; Prelims on Friday June 1st and Finals on Saturday June 2nd. It was fierce competition as records crumbled and upsets changed the dynamics of the day. Mira Costa sent 2 athletes to the State Championships: Xavier Court in the 3200M and Brigette Grau in the Girls Pole Vault. Choir finishes year with amazing Sing a Mighty Song! concert!
The Costa choirs performed their Spring Concert, Sing A Mighty Song!, on June 8th. This concert featured all six choirs, and what a night it was. Because the banquet preceded the concert, the singers felt even closer to each other within their choirs and with their peer choirs. This created a concert filled with heart, emotion, and meaning that some are saying is the best concert the Mira Costa Choirs have given. Read More   
Band closes year with fantastic Pops Concert and
looks ahead to 2018-2019!
The MCHS Bands closed out their year with a fantastic Pops Concert on
May 31st. Family and friends enjoyed music from “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Jurassic Park”, “The Incredibles” and the big hit of the evening as our Wind Symphony played the score to “Godzilla Eats Las Vegas” while the video played.
Girls Lacrosse celebrates season at banquet!

The annual end of year Mira Costa Girls Lacrosse Banquet was held this past Tuesday, June 5. The night’s festivities celebrated a successful season for both JV and Varsity, the scholar athletes, individual performances and the upcoming graduation of the three seniors: Jamie Averch, Kallie Collett and Amalia Lohuis.
Congrats to all and we look forward to seeing everyone in the summer program!

Softball celebrates Bay League Championship
and recognize graduating seniors at banquet!
The Mustang softball team celebrated their second consecutive Bay League Championship season on May 31st with an end of season banquet at Lido restaurant in Manhattan Beach. The coaches presented individual awards to both Junior Varsity and Varsity players. For the Junior Varsity team, Sam Papagno received the Gold Glove award for her defensive performance, Ruby Knizewski received the Coaches award and Grace Householter was named the Junior Varsity overall team MVP. Drama finishes year with Senior Scenes, Banquet
and final ComedySportz Match!
On Wednesday, May 30th, Mira Costa’s Drama/Tech students presented Senior Scenes, a series of short scenes produced and directed by graduating 12th grade drama students. In the weeks leading up to the show, the seniors auditioned, cast, and directed fellow classmates in their scenes from plays and musicals as their final class project. Read More
Ryan Ulrich recognized as Costa Surf Team Longboard Champion

At the Surf team banquet, which took place last week, Ryan Ulrich was recognized as the Longboard Champion by Coach Gellar and Coach Quinn. Congrats Costa Surf on an outstanding season! Go Costa Surf!
Boys Basketball hosts successful fundraiser!
A big thank you to Ron Goodlin who coordinated a very successful Poker Night for the Mira Costa Boys Basketball program. He and Jim Robinson raised over $10,000! Ron, who works at Bank Of America and who has been a loan officer in the South Bay for 25 years, often takes time out of his busy schedule to support community programs!
