I just love mapping with a drone.
Below is a recent project that was flown with the Inspire 2 X5S camera.
There was very dense low level vegetation that made it difficult for the survey crew to walk through to set the ground control points. This 20 acre site would have taken a week or more to do a topographical survey using conventional ground methods.
Two days to set the ground control points and boundary survey. Lots of hiking through the dense desert brush. There was no driving to this site.
A drone was utilized to capture the aerial images needed to build an orthomosaic and 1' contour generation for engineering/architectural design.
