AVC Foundation Awards More Than $200k
for Faculty Grants

During the Fall semester, the Foundation reviewed applications for the faculty grants program and is pleased to announce we were able to award $214k to support student success.

These grants are awarded from the Antelope Valley Community Students' Endowment, which is partially funded from our annual Wine Walk fundraiser.

The various programs and departments on campus which will benefit from the grants this year are the Paramedic Program, Theatre Department, Engineering, Automotive Welding, Music, and Animation programs. The grants program is available for faculty to apply once per academic year.

First Electric Vehicle Purchased for
Automotive Department

Thanks to a generous donation from ACE/AES, a Nissan Leaf was purchased for the AVC Automotive Department for students to work on.

The electric vehicle, the first of its kind to join the program, was purchased from the local HW Hunter Ram dealership.

Thank you ACE/AES for making a difference to students!

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional AVC alumni who have made significant contributions to their field and community.

The Distinguished Alumni will be recognized at the upcoming commencement ceremony. The awardee will receive a plaque in honor of their achievement, and their name will be prominently displayed on the Distinguished Alumni plaque hanging in the Administration building.

The deadline for submitting your nomination is May 1, 2026.

The award recipients will be recognized at the AVC Commencement on
June 5, 2026. We look forward to your nominations and celebrating the outstanding achievements of our alumni.

Volunteers Needed for Scholarship Reviews

The AVC Foundation needs volunteers to review scholarship applications. All reviews can be done from any computer, would require about five hours, and can be completed at your leisure during the designated review window between
March 9 - April 5.

This is a great way to help our students beyond the classroom, and to learn about their life stories and their goals.

If you are interested in reviewing applications, please contact Emily Moulton at emily.moulton@avc.edu or (661)722-6300 ext. 6996.
