Dear Friends,

We recognize that these are challenging times, with lots of anxiety and confusing messages.

One of the reasons why family is so important is that we look out for each other and provide support when things get rough. The Jewish community is your extended family, and we are here to help.

In terms of serving those in need in our community, the Jewish Federation and Jewish Family & Children’s Services are adjusting by connecting with as many clients as possible virtually. You can see our update on our web site, www.jewishoceancounty.org

If you know anyone who needs support or counseling or a check-in call, let us know via email at JFCS@ocjf.org .

We will also be sending an email to our community at the start and end of every week as we go through this Corona mess. The idea is to share ways that everyone in our community can continue to connect, to share meaningful experiences, and to stay productively occupied while we are all enjoying an enforced staycation.

Think of this as a Top Ten List Of Things To Do delivered to your email. And if you have any suggestions or requests, please let us know.

Thanks.

Keith and the team at the Jewish Federation and Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Ocean County.

Jewish livestream : In these times, more and more performers and organizations are presenting programs and concerts live online. Check out the latest on the Jewish livestream from the Central Synagogue – they have a full schedule of activities and presentations:

Staying fit : With a health scare, it is more important than ever to try and keep fit. Self-isolation often means staying indoors, and with gyms closed – our fabulous physiques tend to get a bit shabbier. But as the weather gets warmer, taking a walk outside is a GREAT way to exercise and ward off stir craziness. Whether it’s a path in your development, or a walk around the reservoir – GET OUT THERE.
And, if you can’t…or if it is a bit of a dreary day, check out this series of online workouts for seniors – easy to do in the comfort of your home:  https://youtu.be/Ev6yE55kYGw
