David Cutter, a longtime staple in the Portland music community is literally donating all the proceeds from the sales in his booth. His specialty is concert posters. Some are autographed. While we're at it, the Sunshine Division, which is the best Food Bank in our community is the beneficary of all proceeds from our Evaluation & Identification Booth in the Hall E Lobby. You can bring your familiy treasures, things you bought at garage sales, stuff around the house and FIND OUT WHAT IT'S WORTH! Our experts are all ISA appraisers and are on duty during all hours of the show. |

Not one but TWO special feature exhibits: We will be featuring "100 Years of Pop-Up books and movable pictures: 1890 - 1990". This will be an exhibition of the collection of local pop-culture maven Billy Galaxy, which features exciting and hard to find pop-up books, advertisements, board games and more. Included in the exhibit are numerous rarities from Europe and Japan that are little known and seldom seen on US shores. The exhibit is located in Hall E, Row i, booths 6, 7, 37 & 38.

Then, Joyce Dutcher is sharing part of her 500 piece collection of Geisha Girl porcelain. She says that she first bought a "pretty little saucer" at at dusty fairgrounds antique show while visiting a friend in Michigan. She eventually learned all about Geisha Girl Porcelain and with the help of her friends, has spent many happy hours visiting antique shops and shows searching for more pieces and growing her collection. You can meet Joyce and see her collection in Hall D, Row D5, booths 4,5, 30 & 31.
These collections, brought to the show, are a ton of work for the owners. We hope you enjoy the effort they make to bring them. They are great examples of how a collection can come together and how they can blend into an interesting focal point in your home without being overwhelming. |

SOME OF THE COOL THINGS OUR EXHIBITORS ARE BRINGING:
This is the epitamy of things going full circle. For about 20 years Bob and MaryAnn Sloan were regular exhibitors and sold at every Palmer/Wirfs show, from Seattle to San Francisco. Some years ago, Bob passed away (MaryAnn is doing fine). But it became time for MaryAnn to sell her collection of several thousand Wade animals. So Marie Jones, an old friend and also longtime Palmer/Wirfs exhibitor, is bring that collection to sell for the first time at this show. Marie will also be bringing MaryAnn's button collection plus another estate of vintage buttons previously owned by another exhibitor. You can see all these things in Marie's booth in Hall D, Row D3, Booths 33 & 34.

Probably one of the most unusual item coming this time is brought to us by Joe and Nina Versaw. This tugboat originally had a little motor so you could put around whereever you wanted. This is a the only one ever made by a gentleman who built boats for the Coast Guard. It measures 15' long and yes, it floats just fine. The tugboat will be located at the back wall of Hall E. The cute little girls in it are their grandchildren so you can see perspective. Cute, huh?
Bob Merck is our holiday exhibitor extraordinaire. He always has the best in Christm as, Halloween and other holiday itmes. Among other things, he's bringing these very rare Santa face andirons. The faces are a little difficult to see, but under the balls at the top is a very detailed Santa face. You'll find Bob's booth in Hall E, Row B, Booth 37.
Mark Grimshaw, wih Hobbit Antiques, is a second generation Palmer/Wirfs dealer, is bringing his wonderful selection of turn of the century American oak furniture. If you're in the market for a really special dining set, china cabinet, occasional table, bedroom set or any other piece for your home, he's the man. All pieces are finished as original. You'll find Mark in Hall D, on the North Wall in booths 15,16, 17 & 18.
Vintage furniture can make a home, no matter what year is was built, achieve character and a uniqueness not found in the new stuff. Plus it lasts longer and retains its value.
This particlar show offers over 100 booths of furniture from all styles, periods and pieces. So lots of choices. R & R Antiques are another example of great pieces that fit in any home. They are in Hall E, Row H, Booths 55 & 56. If you're interested in arts and crafts style, vist Eric Kelly Antiques, also in Hall E, Row I, booths 23, 24 & 25. Kristi Bacon with RubyLion Antques comes from Spokane and offers four booths of ready to use pieces in Hall D, Row D4, Booths 15, 16 , 17 & 18. These are just a few of the larger booths offering vintage home furnishings.
Collector Supplies: If you are a collector, you may need some supplies. The Tissue Peddler has been with us for a long time and carries items such as bubble wrap, riker mounts. Riker mounts are those glass top display cases, also known as riker mounts, riker case or butterfly boxes, make ideal display cases to preserve and protect your collectibles. They are great for pins, medals, badges, buttons, jewelry, awards, coins, cards, pens, military or scouting items, handicrafts and more. Cases are available in various sizes and each has a white fiberfill batting that holds your items snug to the glass. Use the white or cover it with a solid color material to contrast with the items you are displaying. The Tissue Peddler also carries zip bags, sleeves for magazines, sports cards and other display and collector items. The Tissue Peddler's booth is in Hall E on the back wall (next to the tugboat) in booth K-1 and 2. |

A NEW NAME FOR PALMER/WIRFS
When Don Wirfs began the company in 1974, it was called Don Wirfs Advertising and Chris was his only employee. When she became a partner in 1999, the name was changed to Palmer/Wirfs & Associates. Then in 2007, Chris began the process of purchasing the remainder of the shares in the company. In May 2013, the last payment will be made and we felt it was time to change our name to better describe the ownership of the company, since Don Wirfs is no longer involved and Christine Palmer and her team have been successfully producing the annual shows for the past 20 years. While you'll still see Chuck working the aisles at all the shows, he is enjoying being semi-retired from the business. The & Associates part is very important. Our team, Katie, Tisha and Vanessa are responsible for most of the operational parts of putting a show on the floor and I sure couldn't do it without them. The name change will be gradual so our website is still www.palmerwirfs.com for now and our email address is still info@palmerwirfs.com. Those things will change over the next several months. |
