Discover tole painting!
Winchester Antique Mall in Franklin,TN has a fantastic selection of tole painted trays featured in this article.
Tole painting originated in Europe where it is known as toleware. The name comes from the French term "tole piente" which means painted sheet metal. Today tole painting is a general term for hand painting on tin and wood objects. This folk art form was brought to the United States by German immigrants in the 18th century. Everything from metal boxes, kitchen ware, coffee pots to wooden tables, chairs, and blanket boxes were hand painted.
Tole painting had a resurgence in the 1960s. Studios for hand painting popped up across the United States which lead to the organization of the Society of Decorative Painters which is still in existence today.
Tole painted objects are a great way to add some color to today's home. Whether you like a cute flowered motif or if your home is more formal and you prefer the gilded look, tole painted objects may be just the thing for you!
Please ensure that your hours are correct on your website. AniqueTrail.com recently had a customer tell us that she had changed her hours for her store and could not understand how customers still kept coming on a day she was closed. Then she realized they were seeing her old hours on the AntiqueTrail.com website. If you need help with this, contact Pattie at firstname.lastname@example.org. Customers view your websites more than you realize!

Tip of the Day
When making a video for your website or Facebook page the most flattering lighting is broad soft front light. If you have your druthers, have someone film you where they are between you and a window and they are slightly off to the side so as not to cast a shadow on you.
