2019 Milstein Family Foundation Monthly Newsletter
Friends,

In this newsletter, watch Adam’s talk from last month at Valley Beth Shalom Synagogue where he highlighted how anti-Semitism is an American problem and discussed his approach to tackling hate stemming from radical movements.

Adam will speak on the same subject on:

  • Friday, April 5 at a Jewish Republican Alliance lunch in Tarzana. You can register here.

  • Tuesday, April 9 at the American Jewish University. Purchase tickets here or reply to this email if you need us to comp your attendance.

Also in this newsletter, read about our Milstein Student Reception at the AIPAC Policy Conference, where we held the finals of the second annual Milstein Innovation Competition. The competition encouraged college students and senior high school students to collaborate with national pro-Israel nonprofit organizations to plan and execute never-been-done-before, out-of-the-box, pro-Israel initiatives.

We also feature below Southern NCSY, AIPAC Policy Conference Edition, who we are proud to support. 50 high school students represented the organization at the conference.

Last, but not least, we are hiring! Please review and share our job posting to join our MFF team as a Program Manager.

With sincere love and admiration for the State of Israel and the Jewish people,

Gila and Adam Milstein

Milstein Fellows and
the Milstein Innovation Competition
The Milstein Family Foundation hosted its annual Milstein Student Reception at the 2019 AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, D.C., with over 400 Milstein Fellows – including high school students, college students, and young professionals – in attendance.

IsraAID CEO Yotam Polizer speaks at the Milstein Student Reception.

As part of the reception, MFF held the final event of its second annual Innovation Competition. Three student groups presented their out-of-the-box, pro-Israel projects for a chance to win up to $16,000 to execute their initiative and additional cash prize for the crowd favorite initiative.

A student group from Baruch College won both the crowd favorite prize and the grand prize for their project “Brave.” “Brave” will strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship on campus by building on the innate connections between the veteran communities from both countries. The cohort-based initiative will create a community of IDF and American veterans, educate the campus community about the U.S.-Israel relationship, and culminate in an immersive Shabbaton experience.

Southern NCSY Milstein Fellows at the 2019 AIPAC Policy Conference.

Written by: Rabbi Uri Pilichowski, NCSY Director of Israel Advocacy

AIPAC’s Policy Conference is the highlight of Southern NCSY’s year-long Israel Political Advocacy program. With the crucial help of the Milstein Family Foundation, NCSY’s program aims to educate, inspire and train American Jewish teenagers from all backgrounds and denominations to advocate for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship. The NCSY program teaches Israeli history, current events and how to talk to members of Congress, the Senate and members of the Administration. Throughout the year NCSY teens meet weekly, lobby regularly and attend conferences in Washington and Florida.

At this year’s Policy Conference, Southern NCSY ran a teen-focused program that started with a Shabbaton on Friday night and lasted throughout the duration of the conference. The teen-focused program featured exclusive events, meals, and opportunities. Southern NCSY brought over fifty teens from Florida and were joined on their program by over 100 more teens from across America. This entire program couldn’t be done without Adam and Gila Milstein and the Milstein Family Foundation. We are proud of our long relationship with them.
The Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation is proud to sponsor this impactful organization.
