Feliz Ramirez
Class of 2010
Feliz is a 2010 graduate of Antonian. She portrayed Carolina in the Grand Hotel television series. Feliz landed her first acting job in a Spanish-language commercial for Paragon Cable at age 4. At age 14, she was cast as the lead role in an independent film, Mia’s Story. Soon after she realized she wanted to pursue an acting career.
Feliz received a full-ride scholarship to St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York where she studied film and broadcasting. While in college, she worked as a model and actress in student films and commercials. She was cast in a co-starring role on CBS’s Bull television series. She also worked in the shoe modeling industry resulting in a shoe being named after her: the Steve Madden Feliz.
When asked whether Antonian helped prepare her for an acting career, Feliz stated “Antonian trained me to stay focused and prepared to hit deadlines in a timely fashion. Most classes were difficult for me and I always felt challenged.
If I didn’t put in the time or energy, then I would slip behind and sports taught me that slipping behind was not acceptable. Being on the ACP Volleyball Team trained me to be a strong leader, and respect other opponents. It also taught me how much work it takes to uphold our reputation as State Champions.”
Feliz had many favorite teachers, one being Ms. Melanie Copfer for Theology her Junior year. She “loved how Ms. Copfer helped students create routines to help us ‘get in the zone.’ For every test she would give us peppermint and play the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, and it would instantly switch us into test mode.”
Feliz stated “When I think of Antonian, I recall so many fun and adventurous moments. I made long lasting friends who I still speak with today. It fills my heart to see my siblings, Uriel and Santa, sitting in the same chairs I used to sit in as a student.”
