Apart & Together:
Intermittent Glimpses from Ascension
SHORT Update for the Third Sunday in Lent, March 15, 2020
Dear People of Ascension,

What an unusual Sunday morning, with no one here: sad, a bit eerie, and disorienting. On the plus side, we seem to have successfully shared news of the closure; no one came to the door, caught by surprise. Lurking in the back of my mind were these questions: "Is this the new norm?" and "How long will this go on?"

We were in fact able to celebrate a mass this morning AND to stream it live -- thanks in part to Verger Mary Beth Hwang, who provided technical support and served the mass, and to Sacristan Thom Ehlen, who quietly and faithfully did all that he normally does. You may click here to view the mass at our Facebook page.

I will be communicating with you again in the next day or two about weekday matters and pastoral care. Please be thinking about what you need from your church at this time as well as what you have to offer to the church now.

With prayers, gratitude and hope,

Patrick +
