We recognize that the last few days have been extremely stressful for many families. Please know that you, your scholars, and your family remain in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully you received our communications over the last few days and were notified that the school will remain closed this week. While we do not follow the schedules of the surrounding school districts, we feel it is important that we allow our city and region as much time as possible to recover.
As of now, we hope to reopen the school on
Monday August 22, 2016 to scholars. Our teachers and other team members will report to work this Friday to assess the school building and ensure we are prepared for the return of scholars.
The decision to close school this week was based on the following factors:
- Scholar safety when traveling to and from school.
- Scholar safety while in school.
- Allowing time for families to recover.
- Allowing time for school staff to recover.
Our prayer is that life will be closer to normal by this weekend. We know that this unfortunate event has placed an even greater strain on many families emotionally and financially. We are working with our board and community partners to identify resources that will help make the road to recovery somewhat easier for families. Please visit our website by clicking

Please complete the form even if everything is well with your family and home
