The Governor's Office and the Executive Office of Economic Development have unveiled their draft economic development plan. The plan identifies priorities that will guide the Healey-Driscoll Administration over the next four years. The plan is the result of extensive outreach and coordination of which Woburn City Officials participated in.

The Massachusetts Innovation Network has released its Founders Start Up Guide. This guide provides business owners with a comprehensive round-up of key resources, incubators, and accelerators to jumpstart their business. The City of Woburn was highlighted as a hotbed for innovation in the State.

The applications for the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center Tax Incentive Program are now open. The Tax Incentive program is open to companies engaged in life sciences research and development, commercialization, and manufacturing in Massachusetts. The program provides incentives to companies, of all sizes, looking to expand their efforts by creating new, long-term jobs in the State.

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) has prepared updated projections of population change, household growth, and housing demand for Metro Boston and its municipalities through 2050. These projections will help the region and its communities plan for a changing and uncertain future. Woburn is expected to see growth in households and employment in fast growing sectors into the future.
