'We can achieve all academic missions.'

Apopka Memorial Middle School Community Brief Tuesday, May 6, 2025

This is National Teacher Appreciation Week and Apopka Memorial Middle School is fortunate to have an amazing team of staff members both inside and outside the classroom who have our students' academic and social well-being at the heart of everything they do each school day. We are asking our community members to help celebrate both AMMS teachers and staff by sending a note or an email to one someone who in their opinion has done a fine job for our Seahawks this 2024-2025 school year - Apopka email addresses. Even a brief message means a lot when it comes from a parent/guardian, student, volunteer, or partner in education. This month our students carry forward with year-end assessments which will reflect all the knowledge they have acquired since last August, but will also reflect upon the dedicated efforts of their teachers and our support staff who have worked so hard all along to make sure each student has received a quality education this year.

Please be sure to look over this week's calendar as it runs through year-end. As always, thank you for reading and for remembering our wonderful teachers and staff during this special week.

Food for Thought at Teacher Appreciation Week

Inspirational quotes for our Apopka community at Teacher Appreciation Week 2025:

Kennedy On Teachers

We the people of America have entrusted into your hands the future leaders of this nation, the most powerful nation on earth – and the way in which you fulfill this trust, in the guidance and direction which you give to America's youth, will have a more profound effect on our national future than perhaps any decision we may make in government.

~ John F. Kennedy, 35th US president

Obama On Confidence

Through my education, I didn't just develop skills, I didn't just develop the ability to learn, but I developed confidence.

~ Michelle Obama, former first lady

Winfrey On Teachers

I’ve never lost the deep respect I have for teachers. I really can’t think of a higher calling than to instill confidence and a love of learning in young folks.

~ Oprah Winfrey, media mogul

King On Education

We must remember that intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.

~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., civil rights legend

Blanchard On Learning

We go to the internet for information. We go to our teachers to learn.

~ Ken Blanchard, international business consultant and author

Truman On Reading

If you can read this, thank a teacher.

~ Harry S. Truman, 33rd US president
