Apostrophe Newsletter                  February 21, 2014
Hello Everyone!

That's right, Apostrophe Books is moving to 5229 E. 2nd Street. We are very excited about the new space and the possibilities. We are still open here this weekend but our last day at 4712 is this Sunday, February 23 (and if you have any books on hold you might want to pick them up before they are unavailable for a couple of weeks while we move). We will re-open in early March at the new location. We'll let you know as soon as we are ready to greet you in a new Apostrophe Books. We look forward to seeing you there for more books and events and authors and storytimes and cards and friends and fun!

The Oscar nominees have been announced and many of the films were preceded by books, of course. Check out our list and read these great books before and after watching the movies. Click to order from ApostropheBooks.net and have it shipped to you while we are temporarily closed. Or click to read more then pick them up in the store this weekend or in just a short week or two in the new space. These are some of the books/movies: The Sting Man (American Hustle), 12 Years a Slave, The Wolf of Wall Street, Long Walk to Freedom, Captain's Duty (Captain Phillips), Philomena, August: Osage County, the Disney phenomenon of the moment, Frozen, has been followed by several books, and The Art of The Wind Rises, from the new Miyazaki animated film, won't be out until April but you can pre-order it now. Though it was nominated for musical score, you should take this opportunity to ready The Book Thief as well if you haven't already.

We continue to celebrate The Beatles' U.S. Invasion 50th Anniversary. Check out our display in the store for a myriad of books. We have history, pictures, interviews, art, and letters. Just add music. See a picture below.

The Apostrophe Books Book Club is postponed this month, and will not meet on February 27, since we will be moving that week. We will discuss The Interestings, by Meg Wolitzer, on March 27, so you still have plenty of time to read the book. In April we will be talking about Amy Tan's The Valley of Amazement. For 15% off our Book Club Selections, please join the Book Club when you're in the store, or you can call us at 562.438.7950 or email ApostropheBooks@verizon.net.

Apostrophe Books is your neighborhood independent bookstore. Thank you for supporting us! This might be the perfect time to try out ApostropheBooks.net, where you can shop local from your own chair.
