Federal Court of Appeals Stay Judge's Order Extending Deadline for Absentee Ballots
Earlier today, the federal 7th Circuit Court of Appeals issued an order staying U.S. District Court Judge Conley's September 21 decision extending the deadline for the receipt of mailed ballots in Wisconsin from November 3 (Election Day) to November 9, provided that the ballots are postmarked on or before November 3. As a result of the stay, the state's statutory deadline of 8 p.m. Election Day for absentee ballots to be returned remains in effect.

It is anticipated that the Democratic National Committee will appeal this decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.
