Congratulations to Apple Festival Grand Marshal Marilyn Van Sant
Every year the Apple Festival Committee picks a person who has made significant contributions to the Bayfield Community and Marilyn Van Sant has done just that.

"I am honored beyond words to be selected the Bayfield Apple Festival Grand Marshal. When I look at the list of past marshals, it's a very humbling experience to be selected."

Marilyn and her husband Bill started out as visitors to the Bayfield area until they decided to make this community their permanent home in 1996.

For the last 40 years, Marilyn has dedicated her life to volunteering for various non-profits in every place she has lived including Illinois, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Alabama and now Wisconsin.

Marilyn served on the board of the Bayfield Heritage Association for 18 years and just finished 10 years as the President of the Bayfield Women's Civic League.

She is still very active within those organizations and is currently spearheading the effort to refurbish the gazebo at Memorial Park. You can also find her in Fountain Park every Wednesday morning in the summer months helping preserve and beautify the park!

Congratulations Marilyn!
Congratulations to the Apple Festival King Jake Hansen!
For the first time in Apple Festival history, the Apple Festival committee has chosen a King to represent the Apple Festival Orchards.

Jake Hansen is a Junior at Bayfield High School and a nephew of Beth Erickson. Jake grew up helping out at his family's orchard, Erickson's Orchards, at the cash register, peeling apples for apple pies, and picking strawberries.

Jake says he believes his late grandfather, Jim Erickson, would be proud to see him represent the orchard as the festival's first King.

He comes from a long line of Apple Festival Royalty. His sister Jamiee Hansen was the Apple Festival Queen in 2019, his cousin Emily Nourse held the crown in 2014 and the list continues with his aunts.

Congratulations Jake!
