Applications are Open for the 2024 Holiday Parade Participation!

The City and County of Schenectady are already feeling the holiday spirit for this year’s 55th Annual Holiday Parade.

Applications are open now for the Northeast’s largest nighttime parade for groups to participate with their most clever holiday floats. Please take the time to review the application and the rules for this year as there have been some updates, including some exciting new attractions for visitors. 

Embracing Tradition and Creativity in Our 2024 Holiday Parade

By not selecting a specific theme this year, we are allowing the parade to fully embrace the traditional spirit of the holiday season. The central focus is on the holiday spirit itself—joy, kindness, generosity, and celebration. The essence of the holiday parade is the community coming together, highlighting the importance of unity and togetherness, and celebrating what makes Schenectady County special.

Without a specific theme, you have the freedom to express your creativity, leading to a more vibrant and varied parade showcasing a wide array of artistic expressions and holiday traditions. Keeping the theme open creates an element of surprise and anticipation, allowing spectators to look forward to a parade filled with unexpected delights and diverse holiday expressions.

Entrance fees are $100 or $75 for non-profit organizations. Applications and fees must be submitted or postmarked no later than October 28th, 2024.
