Learn German in Germany Short-term Language Grant
This grant is available to all faculty members in all academic fields except German Studies, German Language and Literature, and German Translation and Interpretation to attend intensive language courses at various Goethe-Institut locations in Germany. Four-week courses are offered year-round to applicants. Applications for the upcoming year are due on January 31, 2020.

... what the code-like messages written in chalk above doorways in Catholic-majority regions in Germany mean? They tend to read "20*C+M+B*20" (depending on the year) and are blessings left behind on a house by observers of
Dreikönigsfest, or the epiphany. On January 6th, children dress up as the three wise men Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar, and go door to door singing and blessing neighborhood homes with frankincense.
