Conference Funding

Faculty members and advanced students in the humanities, social sciences and related fields are invited to apply for co-funding to organize workshops, seminars and conferences that embrace the interdisciplinary and/or comparative study of the history, politics, economics, law, society, culture and the arts of Germany. Apply by October 31st, 2018.

Study Scholarship for Graduates of All Disciplines

Highly qualified final year undergraduate students may apply for the DAAD Study Scholarship for a full Master's degree program at a German university or for study at a German university as part of a postgraduate or Master's degree program completed in the home country.  Apply by
November 5th, 2018.

DAAD/AICGS Research Fellowship Program

The AICGS  is the leading resource and research center for the study of the German-American relationship in an evolving Europe and changing world. The program is designed to bring scholars and specialists working on Germany, Europe, and/or transatlantic relations to AICGS, which is located in Washington, DC, for stays of two months each. Apply by December 1st, 2018 .

DAAD/GSA Best Book and Article Prizes

DAAD is proud to announce the winners of the 2018 DAAD/GSA Best Book and Article Prizes, awarded on September 28th, 2018, at the 42nd An nual Conference of the German Studies Association in Pittsburgh, PA: Jesse Spohnholz for the best book in History, B. Venkat Mani for the best book in Germanistik, and Kerstin Steitz for the best article in German Studies.

2019 German Studies Association Conference

The German Studies Association (GSA), with support from DAAD, will hold its 43rd Annual Conference in Portland, OR from October 3-6, 2019. The Program Committee cordially invites all GSA members to submit seminar proposals . All proposals must be submitted online by November 9th, 2018 .

Brooklyn currently studies German at Austin Peay State University in hopes of becoming a teacher. Especially after her experience in Germany, she now serves both as an advocate for international friendships and for disabled people who may want to go abroad, as a wheelchair user herself.
