Application Tip #62
Is the academic calendar the same in Germany and North America?

No! The official semester dates are:
Winter Semester:
October 1st — March 31st
Summer Semester:
April 1st — September 30th

However, these days may vary from state to state and from institution to institution, which is why we recommend checking the website of the university you are interested in. Also make sure your start date aligns with our funding periods and application deadlines!
