EMGIP Bundestag Internship

EMGIP (Émigré Memorial German Internship Program) offers internship opportunities for U.S. and Canadian students in the German parliament, the  Bundestag . The internships are two months long and student interests are matched with a suitable position. Apply by September 15th, 2019.

Study Scholarship in Architecture

US students who have gained a first university degree in the areas of Architecture, Interior Design, Monument Conservation, Urban Planning/Urban Development are eligible to apply for the Study Scholarship in Architecture to pursue a Master's degree in Germany. Apply by September 30th , 2019 .

Call for Project Proposals
RISE Worldwide

Calling all research groups, labs, and doctoral students interested in hosting a motivated and qualified student from Germany to assist with research and lab work for your proposed project. The students have academic training in the STEM fields and receive a DAAD scholarship to help cover expenses and travel costs.  Submit by October 15th, 2019 .

Knowledge Diplomacy in the Transatlantic World

As part of IIE's 100th anniversary celebration, please join IIE and DAAD for a salon-style discussion on the topic of Knowledge Diplomacy in the Transatlantic World , focusing on what the 'Transatlantic World' means today and what role knowledge diplomacy can and should play. The event will feature an open discussion by a distinguished group of experts and is free to attend. Meet DAAD Young Ambassador Leslie Hernandez

Leslie Hernandez is a Global Studies and German major at University of California, Santa Barbara. She is Latina-American, born and raised in Orange County, CA and half Mexican and half Salvadoran. Studying abroad has given her perspective on why it is important to be in touch with one’s own culture even while exploring others. As a DAAD Young Ambassador, she hopes to support other students seeking international opportunities in Germany.

Berlin - the Birthplace of Museums at Night

Berlin, well-known for its cultural offerings, hosted the 39th Long Night of Museums, giving people the chance to explore their favorite exhibitions under the stars. This event was first held in the winter of 1997 with 18 institutions. Since then, the event has expanded to include 75 institutions with a growing number of attendees. Other cities across the world have been inspired to host similar events of their own.

... that many miles from Hollywood lies the German town Woltersdorf an der Schleuse, locally referred to as "Wollywood." With a cinematic peak in the 1920s, around 100 films were directed in the region. More recently, the Museum Park served as the backdrop for the 2014 Hollywood film Monuments Men .
