A Night of Philosophy and Ideas

On February 2nd, the Brooklyn Public Library will host a  Night of Philosophy and Ideas featuring top philosophers from around the world. Three DAAD visiting professors will participate , courtesy of DWIH . No registration is necessary for this free event.

Learn German in Germany

DAAD offers grants to faculty members in all academic fields (except German Studies, German Language and Literature, and German Translation and Interpretation) to attend intensive language courses at various Goethe-Institut locations in Germany. Four-week courses are offered year-round.  Apply by January 31st.

Last Call for Applications!
Group Study Visit

DAAD offers financial support for subject-related academic information visits to Germany organized by faculty members for groups of students. Group Study Visit grants are intended to encourage contact with academic institutions, groups and individuals in Germany, and offer insight into current issues in the academic, scientific, economic, political and cultural realms.   Apply by February 1st.

Campus OWL: Director of Liaison Office in New York

Campus OWL is a network of five higher education institutions in East Westphalia-Lippe that will be opening a Liaison Office in New York – closely linked to the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) and DAAD – to promote German-North American higher education cooperation. Apply by February 5th .

Facebook is already delving into the AI realm, but especially in light of recent events, is devoting time and money to investigate the consequences of these technological innovations.
