DAAD offers grants for one to three months to scholars at US and Canadian institutions of higher education to pursue research at universities, libraries, archives, institutes or laboratories in Germany. The aim of this program is to support short-term research stays and the exchange of experience and networking among colleagues.

Language Acquisition
Tips on Learning German
Learning German, especially in the beginning, can be difficult. Ida Kahlo, who has been teaching German as a foreign language for 10 years and runs a YouTube channel called 24hDeutsch, has several tips for German language learners, such as using the correct article or preposition and getting started on using German every day.

Going Green in Germany
eHighway Test Run
In an effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from trucks, Germany is testing a system developed by Siemens that allows trucks to draw electric power from overhead cables. The system went into operation on 6.2 miles of the Autobahn this week, the first such test on a public road in Germany.
