X-ray Microscopic Examination of Calcified Algae - Mastophora rosea (C.Agardh) Setchell

University of Guam researchers are investigating the genetic diversity of reef builders. The high-resolution setup of our laboratory's new SkyScan 2214 allowed us to microscopically examine this calcified algae sample in great detail, including visualization of each ostiole.

The SkyScan 2214 showcased by Dr. Seth Hogg, Lab Manager at Micro Photonics.

SkyScan 2214 Multi-scale X-ray Nano-CT

Micro Photonics is proud to announce the expansion of our laboratory to include the Bruker SkyScan 2214 nano-CT, which allows us an expanded view of samples with resolution never before possible on our desktop instruments. The SkyScan 2214 is versatile enough to be able to scan at ultra-high resolution and also scale up to large, dense samples.

We are excited to now have the full suite of SkyScan ex-vivo instruments available for evaluation and testing in our in-house laboratory and look forward to continuing to assist you in your work with our wide array of laboratory services.
