We are excited to announce the second annual Rhode Island Bar Association Leadership Academy! Open to all RI attorneys, the Academy will serve to strengthen and diversify the Bar association’s leadership pipeline by providing emerging leaders with skills training, professional development programs, networking, and mentorship opportunities.

Participants will meet in-person for a two-to-three-hour session each month between September 2024 – June 2025. CLE credit will be offered for select programs.

This nine-month program will provide:

⚖️ career coaching

🗣️ relationship-building exercises

🤝networking opportunities

A unique feature of the Academy is that every participant will undergo a CliftonStrengths assessment. This renowned tool will help individuals identify their strengths and leverage them for personal and professional growth. Understanding and harnessing these strengths will not only enhance their leadership capabilities but also contribute to their overall success and fulfillment in their legal careers. Leadership Rhode Island will provide training on the CliftonStrengths assessment at the Orientation in September, followed by two additional training sessions during the Academy to ensure participants can fully integrate and apply their strengths throughout the program.

The development of these skills are essential to fostering leadership in the Bar, the workplace, and the community.

Sponsored by the New Lawyers Committee, we are conducting a survey aimed specifically at lawyers who have been practicing for ten years or less. As attorneys navigate through their first decade of practice, RIBA wants to ensure we provide the support and resources new lawyers need to succeed.
