Colorado NAHRO's Rent Assistance Fund is Now Easier to Apply For, and
Open to Residents Below 80% AMI
!
We encourage you to revisit Colorado NAHRO's
Rent Assistance Fund for Affordable Housing now that program guidelines have made the program accessible to even more of your residents (
we can now award funds to eligible applicants below 80% AMI) and with a streamlined process and less backup documentation required!
In addition, residents of Colorado PHA's can apply for rent in arrears to March 1, 2020, and we can process that payment at one time!
If you have tenants struggling to pay their rent, please read more below, or
contact us
to schedule a phone consultation to help guide you through the program.
Here is a summary of what is needed to apply:
- A completed and signed (wet signature not required) application where residents self-attest to COVID impact and assets, and ensure no duplication of benefits.
- Copy of Identification (note, legal residency is not required to participate in the program)
- Copy of Lease
- Copy of Ledger
- TIC documentation that shows the applicant is below 80% AMI executed within the current lease term (preferred) OR an income statement showing all types of income earned in the month prior to the month seeking assistance.
- PHA to complete a summary spreadsheet documenting each applicant and oustanding rent as of March 1, 2020. Late fees or other expenses are not eligible, this fund is solely to cover base rent.
Residents no longer need to have applied for unemployment, provide documentation around income/job loss, etc. to apply for the program.
