The Ability Leadership Program of North Carolina (ALP-NC) is now accepting applications for its next 2025 Leadership Cohort! ALP-NC prepares leaders to engage in collective disability rights advocacy.

Who can apply for the ALP-NC Leadership Cohort?
- Adults with an intellectual and/or developmental disability (I/DD)
- Family members or caregivers of persons with lived experience
- In-field professionals supporting people with I/DD
How does the cohort work?
Participants will:
- Learn about different types of advocacy (self, collective, peer, and systems)
- Practice advocacy and leadership skills, and
- Share personal advocacy stories and network with others to engage in effective, collective advocacy
The program runs for eight (8) weeks. Sessions and team meetings are held via Zoom on Fridays from August 22 through October 17.
Questions? An ALP-NC Q&A session will be held on June 16 from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Zoom.
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. EST on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
