Building Electrification Roadmaps Application Relaunches!

Applications for the next round of We Source NYC Building Electrification Roadmaps are now open.

If you’re a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or general contractor interested in growing or expanding your business into building electrification work to meet the market demand, we invite you to apply for this free, customized 1-on-1 business development support. Our technical experts at Energy Infrastructure Partners will consult with selected businesses to review current capabilities and create a tailored report outlining strategic next steps for business growth.

Applications for the first round are due September 30th. Stay tuned for details on upcoming Info Sessions.

SBIDC kicked off the Building Electrification Roadmaps application launch at our signature semi-annual We Source NYC event earlier this week, hosted at Building Energy Exchange in partnership with BOC Network. 75 contractors, building owners, engineers, consultants, workforce developers, and others working across the building electrification spectrum joined us at Current Connections as we highlighted the 10 businesses that participated in the Roadmaps program this spring while launching the next round of applications.

We Source NYC is an NYCEDC program that supports local small- and medium-sized industrial and construction firms to transition and grow their business in the green economy.

We Source NYC is operated by SBIDC and the Business Outreach Center (BOC Network), which provide business development services, organizes industry events, and brokers partnerships and connections to potential contracting opportunities.

God's Love We Deliver Opens Sunset Park Meal Distribution Center at Liberty BKLYN

Join SBIDC in welcoming God's Love We Deliver to Sunset Park!

Earlier this year, God's Love We Deliver (GLWD) expanded their presence in Brooklyn with the opening of a new 30,000sf meal distribution center at Liberty BKLYN (850 3rd Ave) in Sunset Park, in celebration of the organization's 40th anniversary and delivery of its 40 millionth meal. More than a quarter of their clients live in Brooklyn, making Sunset Park an ideal home for this next chapter.

For 40 years, God’s Love We Deliver has been a lifeline for New Yorkers living with severe and chronic illness. Founded in 1985, the non-sectarian non-profit began when founder Ganga Stone delivered a homemade meal to a man living with AIDS who was too sick to shop or cook for himself. That single act of compassion grew into a citywide movement that today prepares and delivers free medically tailored meals and nutrition counseling to individuals living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, Alzheimer's disease, and many other serious illnesses.

The new Sunset Park facility allows GLWD to significantly increase their capacity, helping expand annual meal production from ~4 million to 6.5 million meals each year and serve thousands more New Yorkers in need. The new facility represents a major milestone in their 40 FORWARD Capital Campaign, helping build the infrastructure needed to meet growing demand for medically tailored nutrition across New York City.

SBIDC looks forward to connecting GLWD with local businesses, community organizations, and workforce partners who have a shared commitment to strengthening Brooklyn and supporting the health and well-being of New Yorkers.

Get involved! Individuals and groups can volunteer in their kitchens, assist with meal packaging, participate in special events, and more. To learn more, volunteer, or support God's Love We Deliver, visit:
