We’re excited to announce we will accept preliminary applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program — commonly known as Section 8 — from Sept. 1–17.

During the 17-day open enrollment period, anyone wishing to apply for housing assistance through the Housing Choice Voucher Program can apply online at saha.org/enrollment. 

After we close the open enrollment period at midnight on Sept. 17, only 5,000 applications will be selected by lottery. 

No need to rush to immediately apply since a lottery system will be used rather than a first-come, first-serve process. Email addresses and mailing addresses will be required because you will be notified by email and through a mailed letter whether you were added to the waitlist or not.

If you are currently on the Housing Choice Voucher Program waitlist, you do not have to reapply. SAHA will continue to draw applicants from the current waitlist until it is exhausted before drawing from the new waitlist.
