Apply for Interim Board Positions and Americas Liaison!
Application Deadline: Tuesday, June 4

This year, 2019, is a critical one, as movements and developments across the country shape what issues will be highlighted in the US presidential and Congressional races. WILPF US is preparing for an important 2020: an election year and the year of our next national WILPF Congress. How could your involvement shape the direction for national-level WILPF at this critical time?

Spread your leadership wings by joining the national board in an interim position for 2019! This year there is a rare six-month opportunity to test-drive one of the open Board positions--or to apply for the U.S. Liaison to the Americas Region Representative position. The new  Americas Liaison position is similar to the former International Board Representative position, but it does not involve any travel.

The Nominating Committee urges members to apply to be our Americas Liaison or for one of the six interim Board positions:
  • Development Chair
  • Nominating Committee Chair
  • Personnel Chair
  • Program Chair (two positions)
  • At-Large Member
All of the interim board positions plus the Treasurer position will be up for nominations and voting in the fall 2019 elections. (The new board term starts in January 2020.) S ee Board position descriptions here, and for more information about the U.S. Liaison to the Americas Region Representative, please contact Janet Slagter at [email protected].

To qualify for Board service, applicants must have 24 months of current and consecutive WILPF US membership status.* For the Personnel Committee Chair, members with knowledge of human resources and/or union experience are especially urged to apply. Any interested members should apply by downloading the application.

The deadline to apply is Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at midnight (in your time zone). Earlier applications are greatly appreciated! Please contact the Nominating Committee in advance with any questions. You can call 313-882-1596 for more information.
