About the AASP Newsletter

AASP's e-Newsletter is a members-only publication featuring insightful articles and content on applied sport and performance psychology best practices, association news, and upcoming programs.

The publication reflects the many interests, topics, and broad knowledge and expertise reflected in the AASP membership. Additionally, it helps members stay current on strategic initiatives, award, grant and employment opportunities, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSOCIATE EDITOR

Attend planning meetings scheduled at an agreed upon time by committee members.

Collaborate with committee members to discuss relevant and timely publication opportunities.

Respond to requests and committee members' correspondences in a timely manner.

Contact and correspond with potential authors in accordance with established timelines and deadlines. Maintain workload within the inherent publication schedule all the way to final circulation.

Solicit, receive, and edit 6-7 article submissions for the six annual issues disseminated. Review contributions and content for the Newsletter.

Assist in recruiting possible candidates for the Newsletter Committee.

Support the Editor-in-Chief in all other aspects of the Newsletter.

The AASP Newsletter Associate Editor position carries a 3-year term that is set to start on January 2, 2025. Our incoming Associate Editor will be trained by the current Associate Editor and Editor-in-Chief starting in December and assume editorial responsibilities beginning with the January 2025 issue.

HOW TO APPLY

Candidates should send a letter of interest that addresses their previous editorial experiences and/or qualifications for the Associate Editor position as well as their curriculum vitae. All applicants must hold a current AASP Professional Membership.
