SMSD Thought Exchange

Shawnee Mission School District is hosting a Thought Exchange through Feb. 9! 

The Roeland Park DEI Committee invites everyone to participate and encourages you to consider Dual Language Program and/or World Languages as a special in elementary. As we live in an increasingly global society, the importance of children learning multiple languages at an early age continues to grow. Join us to encourage opportunities for multilingualism in SMSD!

Construction of the Nelson Wastewater Treatment Facility Update

Nelson Wastewater Facility improvement activities have been delayed due to the extreme cold and wet weather. Starting next week, the project team will be bypass pumping half of the plant with diesel pumps. The pumps are in sound enclosures.  

KEY DATES

• Feb. 12 👉 Once this work is completed, trickling filters will be decommissioned with the activities lasting about a week.
