Every dollar counts when you are trying to advance your education. For some students, a scholarship could be the deciding factor if they continue on in their journey for a degree or not. 

For the past 40 years, 1ST SUMMIT BANK has helped ambitious students achieve their dreams by extending to them this scholarship opportunity, awarded in memory of former 1ST SUMMIT BANK president, G.H. Miller, and his granddaughter, Jeanne Wolford McKelvey, who served on our board of directors, and in honor of the McKelvey family. 

This year, we are awarding TWO winners a $2,500 scholarship each. We are excited to gift a total of $5,000 in scholarship funds to young adults seeking an education beyond high school.

NO PURCHASE OR TRANSACTION NECESSARY. Open to students who: (a) are registered as a full-time college student for the upcoming fall term at a Pennsylvania-based institution; (b) will be a high school graduate by July, 2022*; (c) reside in Cambria, Somerset, Indiana, Blair, or Westmoreland county; and (d) complete the essay on the entry form. One entry per person. Employees of 1ST SUMMIT BANK and their immediate families are not eligible. Entry must be completed on or before June 30, 2022.

Two winners will be selected based on their essay response, and the decision of the judges will be final. Each winner will receive $2,500 with the check being paid to the institution in which they are enrolled in the Fall of 2022. Winners must provide proof of full-time enrollment. If a winner cannot be contacted by July 31, 2022, the Bank may select another winner in their place at a later date.
