LENA Grow Coaching Project

LENA: Building Brains Through Early Talk. Everyday interactions—simple conversations, playful exchanges, and lots of back-and-forth—are the building blocks of learning.This project equips family child care providers to help infants and toddlers thrive through early talk. Using a child-friendly "talk pedometer"* one day a week for five weeks, providers receive data on how often they engage in back-and-forth conversations with children. With this information, the LENA coach and provider learn practical strategies to increase meaningful interactions during routines, play, learning, and daily activities.
