A Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy, Dr. Maybee has been a valued member of the Lehman community for many years. She previously served as Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities and has provided leadership in interdisciplinary initiatives, including Disability Studies. She earned her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Cornell University and is an accomplished scholar whose research spans philosophy, disability studies, race, gender, and educational theory.
Throughout her career, Dr. Maybee has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, faculty collaboration, and shared governance. As Interim Dean, she will work closely with faculty, staff, and students to advance the School's academic programs, support scholarship and creative activity, expand experiential learning opportunities, and continue fostering the inclusive and collaborative environment that distinguishes the School of Arts and Humanities.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. James Mahon for his dedicated leadership and many contributions to the School of Arts and Humanities during his service as Dean. We are grateful for his commitment to the School and look forward to his continued contributions as a member of the faculty.
