Dear Friends,
In honor of National Staff Appreciation Day, I want to take a moment to celebrate the remarkable people who make Friendly House the welcoming community it is. Across every program—whether supporting young children and families, creating safety and connection for older adults, or opening our doors to friends and neighbors seeking support and community—our staff bring not only their skills, professionalism, and dedication, but their whole, authentic selves. Shaped by their experiences, identities, and perspectives, our staff make sure that the people we serve can see themselves reflected here and feel the quiet assurance of belonging. They listen deeply, bridge differences, and create a place where we all can grow, find connection, and we gather in the spirit of inclusion and community.
The work of building community is rarely simple. It can be messy, tender, and demanding—especially in complex and divisive times. And yet, our staff continue to show up each day with compassion and patience, meeting a wide and vibrant cross-section of people with openness and care. I am profoundly grateful for the heart, resilience, and humanity that Friendly House staff bring to this work every day.
