IN A LANDSCAPE
A UNIQUE INTRODUCTION TO CLASSICAL MUSIC
In 2016, Hunter Noack took to the road with “In A Landscape”, replacing the traditional concert halls with the wild outdoors. Thrilling concertgoers with classical music played on a 9-foot Steinway grand piano in natural and wild public spaces.
To meet the acoustical challenges of performing in the wild, music is transmitted to concertgoers via wireless headphones. No longer confined to seats, you are encouraged to explore the landscape, wander through secret glens, lie in sunny meadows, and roam old-growth forests. Or in our case; stroll the ocean cliffs, watch a grey whale roll in the waves, and have a picnic with family and friends.
Noack has performed in the wild across Oregon from Crater Lake to the Oregon Coast. The 2022 concert series is being held in parks across the State to help celebrate the Oregon State Parks Centennial.
Four concerts were held on the South Coast. Three at Shore Acres State Park in Coos Bay and one at Chrissy Field State Park in Brookings. Noack covered much of the essential repertoire from Bach through Mozart, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Debussy.
Travel Southern Oregon Coast, Wild Rivers Coast Alliance, and the Coos Bay – North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau partnered to sponsor the “In A Landscape” series in Coos and Curry counties.
