Students on the Job
 . . . What Supervisors Say . . .

Congratulations Maritza Rafael, March Corporate Work Study Student of the Month. She works at Eli Lilly where her supervisor says: "She comes to work with a smile and a determination to work."

Freshman Tontonna Buford works at Ivy Tech.

"Our students have a full day of tasks to complete and without their assistance we would not be able to accomplish projects in a timely manner. We greatly miss them when they have school breaks, as that is when we find out how much we really rely on them to complete their work on a weekly basis. The investment of time initially to train the students and help them understand their expectations in the work place has been so rewarding." - Tricia Everhart, MJ Insurance

Freshman Anita Brown works at Ivy Tech

"Our student workers are part of our team. The tasks these students perform parallel those of our professional billing staff; attention to detail, the quality and the speed in which they complete time sensitive data entry and claim control is surprising considering this is their initial introduction into the workforce. Their all-in work ethic has allowed staff to address more immediate department goals." -Carla Armstrong Northwest Radiology

Freshman Essence Thurman works at Ivy Tech.

"She takes so much initiative, always asking for additional work when she finishes her tasks. She does her work accurately and thoroughly. I think we could hire her right now as a full-time employee and feel perfectly comfortable that she would do a great job.' - Cathy Siler, Marian University.

Senior Dayana Nicolas works at Blakley's

"He has  the ability to understand new tasks easily and with little instruction. He is quick and does a great job checking for accuracy. He is respectful, pleasant, and dependable."
-Donna Bridgewater, LaRazza Pizza, Inc

Freshman Nyla Freeman works at Kroger Gardis Regas Law

"We are so impressed with her that we are using her in lieu of a college summer replacement student."
-Kathy Ladd, Eli Lilly & Co.

Freshmen Dionte Dopson and Chyann Hunter work at Marian Inc.

"If I leave a project on her desk, she gets started and only comes to me if she has questions. She communicates well. She is smart, efficient and ambitious. I just love working with her."
Johnathan Bailey, Barnes & Thornburg

Dear Friends, Family Members and Supporters:

This is such a great time to be part of the Providence Cristo Rey family. The anticipation of graduation and the culmination of a year of hard work is evident in our classrooms and hallways. All 40 of our graduating seniors have been accepted to college - most to multiple institutions. Of those graduates, we know that some aspire to careers in engineering, others want to major in business and computer science, and some are focusing on careers in medicine.
The dedication of our faculty and hard work by our students was most evident at our Spring Academic Pep Rally where more than half of our students were named to honor roll, recognized as successful scholars and for excellence in reading across the curriculum. Other students have dedicated time to community service projects that include neighborhood clean ups and assisting local shelters and food banks.

All of these celebrations would not be possible without your dedication to our school.
As part of our year-end celebrations, we recognized our valued Corporate Work Study Partner supervisors at an appreciation luncheon hosted by Marian Inc. This weekend, we will host our annual raffle, live and silent auction "The Big Top: Welcome to the Circus," to support scholarships for all our students. The event is underwritten by Dauby, O'Connor & Zaleski
We also want to express our appreciation to Marian University for hosting our prom and May 26 graduation.

Thank you for your faith and commitment to our students' success.

Sincerely,
The Faculty, Staff and Students of Providence Cristo Rey.
