Previously located in North Kansas City’s Iron District, 3 and Me Boutique, a women’s specialty shop offering a wide variety of trendy and contemporary clothing and accessories, recently opened a storefront location at 422 Armour Road in Downtown North Kansas City. The Boutique is currently open during the week 10 am – 5 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and offers extended hours on Thursday evening staying open until 7 pm. Weekend shoppers will find the Boutique open on Saturday from 10 am – 4 pm. Following Easter, it will be open on Sunday as well.
Owner, Lois Gutierrez, was previously a 3rd Grade Teacher at Clardy Elementary in the North Kansas City School District. Upon finding herself an “empty nester”, she wished for more flexibility to travel with her husband and began thinking more seriously about her dream of owning her own business. After exploring different ideas with her husband, family, and friends, her love of fashion rose to the top and she took a leap of faith and dove into her new role as an entrepreneur.
With 3 daughters that each have their own distinct styles, Lois designed the boutique to offer fun fashion choices based on those unique styles, as well as her own … hence the name 3 and Me. The boutique carries a line of trendy dresses, pants, shirts, etc.; local t-shirts and sweatshirts; thrift and vintage options; and a line of little girls’ items and “Mommy and Me” matching items. In addition to clothing, shoppers will find a limited selection of shoes, booties, and other footwear, along with accessories such as bags, belts, slippers, jewelry and more. New shipments come in weekly so you’ll want to stop by the boutique often.
Lois especially enjoys helping customers tap into and express their individual unique fashion styles. She will also be offering events and activities such as Sip & Shop and Ladies Night Out and can accommodate private events on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.

Chicken N Pickle Continues to Grow Its “Flock”
|
In 2016, Chicken N Pickle established its first “Coop” in North Kansas City with a complex featuring a unique offering of food and indoor/outdoor entertainment including pickleball, yard games, live music, and a variety of other events and activities. The concept was wildly popular and quickly grew into one of NKC’s most popular “destination attractions”. Chicken N Pickle has since added five new “coops” to its ever-growing flock.
Chicken N Pickle currently has three new locations in St. Charles, Missouri; Grapevine, Texas; and Glendale, Arizona in the works expected to open later this year or early 2023. And, it has been reported they are considering eastward expansion with a potential new location being explored in Charlotte, North Carolina.
With the popularity of pickleball outpacing all other sports in the U.S., Chicken N Pickle recently announced it has expanded its regular offering of pickleball camps and clinics to include a series of Nike Pickleball Camps through US Sports Camps.

Park Lofts was built in 1912 as a Sears, Roebuck and Company warehouse and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From 1908 to 1940 Sears sold house designs through the Sears Modern Homes program. Several of the homes were drawn on the 9th floor of the Park Lofts building. With this in mind, the Park Loft floor plans have been named after these homes as a tribute to the celebration of the American dream and to recognize and preserve the history of the Park Lofts building.
