Safely and securely dispose of all your used, broken, or unwanted electronics at the Tiverton Public Library! 

Indie Cycle will be parked outside the library to help you responsibly recycle your electronic waste.

This month’s adult craft take-out kit contains the instructions and materials you need to make a sock bunny.

Ask for a kit at the Information Desk or call 401-625-6796 to order a kit for porch pick-up. Available while supplies last. 

If you live in a senior housing community and would like to do this craft with other residents in your community, please contact Deb at destrella@tivertonlibrary.org or 401-625-6796 x5 to place a bulk order of free craft kits delivered to your community!

Virtual Tour of the RI State House
RI State House
Wednesday, April 7th, 6:30-7:30pm, via Zoom
 
Lane Sparkman, Associate Director of Education and Public Programs for the RI Department of State, will take us on a virtual tour of the RI State House. The tour features three-dimensional photographs of all the major rooms in the building as well as close-up views of hard-to-see areas and artifacts, and will touch on the building’s architecture, history, and a bit of RI history as well. Attendee questions are encouraged!

Join American Honey Queen Jennifer Hinkel for a presentation about America’s angels in agriculture – the honeybee. She will provide a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of a beehive, how commercial beekeeping connects agriculture coast to coast, the products and services received by honeybees, and how pollination is essential to the bee and society.

Spring is an exciting time of the year when it comes to cooking. It is truly a celebration, using light, bright seasonal ingredients, such as crisp asparagus, spring peas, and tender greens. Join us for a monthly “cook along” for fresh ideas highlighting easy-to-make, heart-healthy spring dishes.

Museum Pass Update
Thanks to your support, the Friends have recently renewed both the Buttonwoods Park Zoo and Roger Williams Park Zoo passes.

In addition, the Blithewold Museum pass is currently being renewed and should be available April 3rd.

Platinum Sneaker Award

In a year like no other, the Friends presented a special award at its 2021 Annual Meeting on March 24th.

Instead of the traditional Golden Sneaker Award for library service in the previous year, we presented a Platinum Sneaker Award to the entire Tiverton Public Library staff for "going the extra mile...plus" with their commitment and ingenuity in adapting to the pandemic environment in 2020.
