Looking for a way to support Bigfork businesses?
Our Chamber has a few ideas.

Bigfork businesses are the backbone of our community. They have invested in our town, our schools and our residents. Now is the time to invest in them! If you are able, here are some ideas.

  1. Make purchases in whatever way you feel comfortable. Curbside, delivery, online store or facebook.
  2. Purchase gift cards! Gift cards never expire. Doing this will help their bottom line and can be used when life returns to some kind of normal. By purchasing them to use later, you are helping the business now!
  3. Ask the business how you can help. Ask the owner how they are doing. The people who own and work in these establishments are our friends and neighbors. A caring conversation might be just what is needed.

Click here to go to the gift card store. Right now, there are restaurants only, but more businesses are coming on each day or try visiting them online.
Hello dear friends and clients,

To say this has been a strange month would be an understatement. As always, I hope that you and yours are healthy and safe. I thought you would enjoy a photo of Heidi and Rainier" sheltering in place." John is social distancing in the background. Life has been pretty much the same for them with the exception that we are around a bit more and there is a ton of cooking going on, which they quite enjoy.

I received some uplifting stats from our multiple listing service that I thought I would pass onto to you regarding real estate in the Flathead.

This data comes from the NMAR/MLS Hot Sheet March 1 - March 24

New Listings--216; Under Contract--159; Closed--140; Pending--30; Back on Market--66; Canceled--33
As you can see. Real estate is moving in spite of the restrictions we are experiencing. When the restrictions are relaxed a bit, I am anticipating a spring surge. People have always and still want to be in Montana! Interest rates are incredibly low and with the stock market on its bumpy path, real estate may be your best investment.

On that note, if you have recently cancelled, withdrawn your listing or it has expired, contact me. We'll get it listed and sold! My experience, consistent record and excellent negotiating skills will successfully lead you toward a sale at the right price. Call, text or email me. As soon as we can, we'll have dinner (I have an in with the local sushi joint).

Best of health, wherever this finds you. Denise

Denise's Book Corner - Chocolat by Joanne Harris
She comes and goes with the wind. Is she a goddess, a witch or a chocolate making psychologist who loves life and cares about people?

Vianne Rocher arrives in an ultra-traditional French village with her 6 year old daughter, Anouk. It’s the beginning of lent (a season of denial) and the opening of her shop, “La Celeste Praline," sends the villagers into a guilty panic.

Yet, deftly and determinedly, Vianne creates her pièces des résistance gradually winning over and changing the lives of the villagers. Her combination of empathy, wisdom, kindness, chocolate and a little magic is alluring and wonderfully joyful.

This obscure little story carries some heavy themes. Love and letting go, facing fears, the right to die, tolerance, classicism, nature vs. nurture and the power of chocolate, just to name a few. If you’ve seen the movie (and you probably have), the book is even better.
