Note from the President...
Spring is officially upon us and the weather has been toying with us.  Warm weather a few weeks back made us want to get the cover off the boat and now it’s snowing! Let’s hope mother nature gets the snow out of her system and the work party is warm.  See below for details on the work party but we will be having it and there is lots to do. The de-icers we installed in the late fall did a fantastic job keeping the ice away and the permanent docks (and the club house docks we left tied to them) survived the winter well. We will need to do some work on the poles this spring before the boats go in from the damage sustained last winter but now that we have an ice solution in place the repairs can go forward.

We plan to hold the member meeting after the work party in the club house as we have in the past. If you are unable or uncomfortable attending the Spring Work Party, no worries, just contact us and we can let you know what tasks need to be completed outside of the work party. There are always ways to contribute to the well being of the club throughout the season.

The docks should once again be full this year and we have a waiting list. If you are not planning to use your dock space this year or even plan to launch late and wish to rent your space (even for part of the summer), please get with Menno Jager to discuss your options.

It will soon be time to start preparing our boats for launch. If you need help with any club equipment (gin pole, extenders, etc.) please reach out for help. Someone is always willing to lend a hand, don't do it alone. This is also a good time of year to review the PCC Member Rules and Regulations. They are also available on our website, posted in the club house, or available from any board member. These Rules and Regulations make the club enjoyable for all and many are a requirement of our lease with the state. Please be sure to watch your speed on the driveway as there will start to be lots of activity at the club.

Stay tuned to the Breeze, our website, and our Facebook page to keep up to date on all of the activity at the club. Hope to see you all at the club soon.

SPRING WORK PARTY
Saturday, April 30 @ 9AM
It's FINALLY that time of the year again! Mark your calendars for this year's Spring Work Party.

The scheduled date is Saturday, April 30th @ 9AM, with a rain date of Sunday, May 1st. Just like last year, we will hold a traditional work party and open up our facilities for the season. Work will need to be done in the yard (lighter duty on landscaping, and some heavy lifting to bring out our fire pit chairs and picnic tables), inside the club house, on the porch, around school boats, and of course with assembly of our club house docks. If you have any questions, especially if this is your first Work Party, you can direct them to Dave Porter or Ron Gallagher. This is all hands on deck event, and all members are encouraged to come out and help even for a few hours if available.

Lunch and membership meeting to follow. The club will provide lunch, but any contributions of soups or desserts are welcome and appreciated.

See you all there!
2022 Racing Season
With spring on its way, its time to start thinking about racing! Last year, PCC fielded seven sailboats in competition with members of PYC and the Outboard Motor Club. Races are on Wednesday evenings starting at 5:15 and are followed by dinner at PCC provided by sailing captains and crew. Anyone in our club can participate in races either as a crew member on someone else’s boat or by entering your own boat. We also race two of PCC’s club boats, the Flying Scot (Sassy Lassie) and the Ranger 23. Flying Scots are allowed to fly spinnakers, all other boats only use jibs and mains. Contact our racing coordinator, Ross Cummings, for more information.

For those who raced last year, please make sure you respond to Ross’s email requesting your status for this year’s racing and participation in the dinner rotation.
