How Will the CRA Strike Affect Your Income Tax
Processing & Benefits?

Even though CRA employees are on strike, the May 1st, 2023 deadline will not be extended. If you are owed a refund, CRA will be paying citizens late, but with a 7%, compounded daily interest rate from May 31st. Tax returns that are filed electronically will be processed automatically by the system. 
Some CRA services will be delayed or unavailable during the strike, but benefit payments will continue as scheduled. Click below for full details.
