Last month, iSOSY highlighted resources to support working toward an HSED. Oftentimes, students are behind in basic skills and need to take a step back before digging into prep materials.

We encourage you to explore what Reading on the Move has to offer. Students can practice grammar skills, dictionary use, verb tense, alphabetical order, and choosing word meanings. Having a foundation in basic skills can provide support before moving forward with skills of increasing complexity.

April 15th is recognized as Jackie Robinson Day. He was a baseball player, civil rights activist and social pioneer who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball in 1947 by becoming the first African American to play in an MLB game.

His story reminds us that we can achieve greatness no matter what obstacles are placed before us.

STAT lessons are Short, Targeted and Timely. iSOSY has created a continuation of STAT lessons for Working on a Dairy Farm and At the Convenience Store. Both Dairy Farm Equipment and At the Gas Station are now available for use.

You will find a myriad of learning activities to engage students, including Quizlet, EdPuzzle, videos, photo prompts, and interactive games. A new feature is an AI driven interactive Quizlet called Q-Chat.

Find the entire collection of 11 STAT Lessons (so far!) HERE.

STATE

INITIATIVES

VIA PLCs

An iSOSY state initiative is the activity that states will implement with students.

Professional Learning Circles (PLCs) will work together to implement initiatives in their respective states.

The identified initiatives are listed on the left.

We look forward to sharing successful ideas and activities from each of the PLCs throughout the year.
