It is our privilege to award Student of the Month to one of the longest standing students of Music Time Academy, Eve Banas. Although Eve has been enrolled in lessons here for 5+ years, she has actually been playing piano since the age of 3, demonstrating a true dedication to the study of Music. Through her long term commitment to regular practice over the years, her piano skills have risen to an impressive level so far.
Most importantly though, Eve has developed a love of Music, which is the truest reward of all (not to downplay the coolness of winning Sudent of the Month, of course). Recently, Eve has not only enjoyed playing the piano, but now also sings and dances in the Livermore High School Show Choir. She has performed at many Music Time Academy Concerts throughout the years, and also at last year's school talent show. Here's to countess more performances in the future!
Keep up the love and hard work, Eve!

Where are you from/where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Walnut Creek, CA. I am one of 5 children
What other jobs did you work at before Music Time?
I started managing movie theaters when I was 19 and continued on to do that until I graduated college. I earned my certification in film projection, being a projectionist was by far my favorite part of managing theaters. Sadly, these jobs are mostly obsolete with the invent of digital projectors. I still occasionally work at the Grand Lake Threatre in Oakland. I've also had countless other retail and coffee bar jobs.
What do you like about working here?
Just about everything! I love my co-workers, and working with so many talented musicians is really inspiring. I also love seeing our students learn and grow, and when a student and teacher really click that is always the best part.
What did you study in school?
I studied just about everything, and took as many classes as possible while I was at D.V.C. finally landing on Biology. I have always been fascinated by the way things wovrk and by the complexity, diversity, beauty, and persistence of Life so Biology seemed like the right choice for me. Cal State East Bay introduced some special options while I was there including Cell and Molecular Biology, and that sounded fun, so I went for it. I took so many Chemistry classes that I went for the minor in Chemistry also. I fell in love with infectious diseases and immunology, and would love to go back some day and study some more of that.

What are some of your favorite bands?
I love all music and all genres, so pretty much depends on my mood, or the mood I'd like to create. I'll listen to anything. Taking a look through the C.D. rotation in my car, it appears I am listening to a lot of movie soundtracks these days.
What was your first concert?
My very first concert with my parents was Rick Springfield, but my fist concert out on my own was Robert Plant and Joan Jett, my older sister took me, it was quite an experience.
What was one of your favorite concerts & why?
All of them! I used to go to shows just about every night, I prefer smaller venues and local bands, but I'm going to go with Erasure as my all time favorite. It was my first big concert out with my friends as a teenager, and it was a lot like watching a circus, there were tons of elaborate costume changes and people flying around above the stage, really whimsical and fun, a different experience than any concert I had gone to before that.
Do you (or did you) play an instrument? Which one?
I played Clarinet in middle school, and Cello and Drums in high school. I really loved playing drums so later on I took some private lessons which were really fun, but I moved away and stopped, which was a really bad decision.
What do you remember most about learning to play an instrument?
Practicing, a lot. I am super shy about playing in front of people though, so I think that I'd like to get over that one of these days if I choose to pursue music again.
What instrument would you like to learn to play most & why?
This is a tough one. Working with people that I could learn just about anything from makes it even more difficult. I think I'd like to learn Piano, although my heart is still kinda on the drums. When I was about 10 my parents got a Piano, I taught myself some basic stuff, I remember it being really peaceful sitting there learning.
Where in the world would you like to visit & why?
Everywhere! I've never actually traveled anywhere so I'll start kinda close to home and say Alaska, I want to see the Northern Lights and I think the place just seems really beautiful.
Who is one your favorite historical figures & why?
I'm not so sure they are necessarily historical figures, but it's a tie between Gene Roddenberry and Carl Sagan, I just really identify with their philosophies and messages about our place in the universe and about the future of science and technology.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
"I really should have stuck with those Drum lessons" JK, haha

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action).
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
