What's To Come This Summer in Ohio!
Jim Waechter, Moderator
|
|
|
The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) will welcome Rev. Brett Younger, Senior Minister of Plymouth Church, Brooklyn, NY as this year’s Bible Lecturer at the June
Annual Meeting and Conference in Cleveland, OH
.
Brett was excited to be given the meeting theme, “Jesus the Heart of it All,” because Jesus is at the heart of what he wants to lecture about. Brett will spend three sessions looking for our stories in Mark’s story of Jesus. We may find that we are the would-be disciples, hungry souls, and surprising saints of the second Gospel.

Financial Sustainability
Cindy Bacon Hammer, Chair, Board of Directors
|
|
Your Board of Directors has been working very hard to meet the needs of both the NA offices and our member churches. Along with the Leadership Council and the Board of Governors, we are highly invested in what we can do to nurture fruitful relationships with all who participate in the life of the NACCC.
Because a key responsibility of the Board is to manage and oversee the financial well-being of the NACCC, we are taking a deeper dive into our current expenses, programs, services and revenue sources. The goal of this work will be to create a long range plan for the financial sustainability of the organization. Please
contact me
if you have any ideas regarding this project.
See you in Cleveland!

Supporting the NACCC
Edith Bartley, Board of Governors
The
Congregational Foundation
(CF), founded in 2003, is a “supporting organization” to the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC), according to its 501(c)3 nonprofit status. The Board of Governors has classified the CF as a Type 1, supporting organization. By definition, a Type 1 is under the authority of the parent organization, in this case the NACCC, and that the NACCC would appoint or elect a majority of the directors. There are advantages to the CF and the NACCC for the CF to be a Type 1. More importantly it allows for the CF to manage the endowments of the NACCC while giving a percentage of income annually to the NACCC, according to donor intent. As an example the CF provided support to the NACCC through the
Providence
and
John Richard
Endowments as well as making a contribution to the Shared Ministries Fund of $107,700.
