Jesus Christ Superstar
Dinner And Movie
Monday, April 11th, At 6:30 PM
And
Tuesday, April 12th, At 6:30 PM
The event is open to all! We'll be gathering for a light dinner followed by a viewing of the 1973 classic, "Jesus Christ Superstar." This film inspired many and awakened their faith. There will be a different version of the film shown on each date. Pastor Wendolyn's favorite version of the film will be shown on Monday, and our church Secretary, Debbie Chromeck's favorite will be shown on Tuesday. Debbie lists Jesus Christ Superstar as one of her all time, most cherished movies. The lyrics and music are timeless, and the portrayal of Jesus is captivating. If you've never seen this movie, you are in for a treat! If you have, begin a tradition of viewing it each year during holy week. Hope to see you at this event!

From The Pastor's Desk:
"Holy Week." A time every year where the Church seeks to understand, to experience, to interact with the truth of the Cross and the Tomb. We seek to engage with it - in most cases, engagement means promising oneself and one's beloved that full attention will be given, and that the short-term time of wedding planning will turn into a lifelong connection, one that grows and deepens over the years.
We invite you to engage this Holy Week - to commit yourself to time with God, especially through walking together with Jesus through the story of his Passion. (Indeed, a part of engagement is opening all of one's heart, one's feelings, one's passion to another.) From bearing palms on April 10 ... to hearing "Jesus Christ, Superstar" on Monday and Tuesday nights ... to wandering from the Memorial Garden on Maundy Thursday in to a communion supper to witnessing the stripping of the altar ... to hearing of Jesus' relentless love for us on Good Friday ... to the Easter vigil* and the presentation of the Salvation Narrative and First Eucharist of Easter ... to the fragrance of lilies and songs of exultation on Easter Sunday. Holy Week is an unfolding, available to you, to engage your heart and mind, soul and body, from one Sunday to the follow Son-day. May this week be truly Holy to you.
(*Easter Vigil is only an hour-long service, yet it is one that we witness by moving throughout our Church building, hearing of our own salvation in the surprise of the end of that long Saturday - "when no one wrote a word, wondered, is this the end?")
Peace,
Pastor Wendolyn

Matt Wheeler Concert
Saturday, April 30th, At 7:00 PM
At Lord Of Life
Join us for this special event at Lord Of Life on Saturday, April 30th at 7:00 PM. A troubadour, a poet with a guitar, a stage banter-conversationalist - all are terms that describe Matt Wheeler's music & performance style well. Matt’s songwriting paints pictures with words, often drawing inspiration from classic works of literature or simply spinning new original stories in song. Lyrics and dynamics play a key role, as each song really means something, and each one is delivered with an honesty that is compelling. Matt draws audiences in with engaging stories and interaction, while shining the spotlight on the lyrical strength of his songs.
No tickets are needed. A free will offering will be available after the concert.
“Warm sound & heartfelt lyrics. If you are a fan of Josh Ritter give a listen to Matt!” - Helen Leicht, WXPN Philadelphia

Ukraine Relief
Through
Lutheran Disaster Response
Lutheran World Relief will be supporting assistance efforts to refugees who are victims of the Russian invasion into the FREE and INDEPENDENT nation of Ukraine. As of this writing, it is estimated by the United Nations that over 3.8 million Ukrainians have fled their homeland and many more will follow. It is also estimated that over 10 million Ukrainians have been displaced from their homes.
A pledge of a $50,000 matching fund has been made for the first $50,000 given to LDR. If you would like to contribute to this effort, use the link below which will enable you to directly contribute.
"Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, I will not be shaken. For in the day of trouble, God will give me shelter, hide me in the hidden places of the sanctuary, and raise me high upon a rock. Even now my head is lifted up above my enemies who surrround me. Therefore I will offer sacrifece in the sanctuary, sacrifices of rejoicing; I will sing and make music to the Lord."
Psalm 27: 3, 5, 6 NRSV

Another Way To Help
Ukrainians In Need
We have all been affected by the reports and television coverage of the invasion of Ukraine. Most of us want to know how we can help.
Lord of Life will begin making cloth tote bags in a sunflower print to honor the strength of Ukraine. The fabric is heavy cotton and fully washable. They are ideal for groceries especially with the new law coming in May banning plastic bags.
We ask for a donation of $12.00 for each bag. The profit will be sent to the ELCA Disaster Response to benefit the people of Ukraine. The bags will be available after services beginning in April, or you may order them by calling:
Penny Miller: 609-760-9745
Or
Barbara Wagner: 609-744-3262
Thank you in advance for your anticipated support!

From The Editor:
LifeLines Ending Song:
Our ending song was written by C. Austin Miles (1868-1946) in a cold, damp, windowless basement. The year was 1912 and the location of the house was Pitman, NJ. The title of the tune is "In The Garden," but it often goes by the name, "I Come To The Garden Alone." It became popular when it was used in the evangelical campaigns of preacher Billy Sunday shortly after being published. It remains a favorite for many. Recordings were done by Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, Tennesse Ernie Ford, Elvis Presley, Rosemary Clooney, Perry Como, Johnny Cash, and other famous recording artists.

"And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am his own; and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has every known." (Refrain)
